Maria Mazo, 30, was a pupil of professors from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory while still in high school. She then studied in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover. Through foundations like the Solti, the Yehudi Menuhin, and the Alfred Toepfer she also took part in master classes. Ms. Mazo was featured in the documentary In The Heart of Music directed by Andy Sommer. Her performance credits include solo recitals in Spain, Austria and Germany and duo recitals in Russia and Italy with violinst Sergei Krylov. For four years, Ms. Mazo directed the innovative concert series Late Night Lobby and has held a teaching position at her alma mater in Germany. Her YouTube channel has about 200,000 views, where her video featuring the piano transcription of Stravinsky’s “Firebird Suite” has gained widespread popularity.
