In just seven days, 29 of the world’s finest concert pianists will lay it all on the line at the Cleveland International Cleveland Piano Competition, performing in a high-stakes challenge where the winner takes a $50,000 cash prize and concert engagements for the next three years.

Get in on the action!  Catch one of dozens of performances at the Cleveland Museum of Art or Severance Hall, take in a pre-concert lecture or film, or raise a glass at one of the parties.  Just don’t miss it, because the CIPC only comes once every three years!

HIGHLIGHTS

Tuesday, July 30 | Gartner Auditorium | Cleveland Museum of Art | 6:30 pm

2011 first prize winner Alexander Schimpf kicks it all off at the Opening Ceremony with a performance of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 13 with CityMusic Cleveland.  Joel Smirnoff, President of the Cleveland Institute of Music, will conduct.  After the concert meet the 2013 contestants and party in the Ames Family Atrium!

Wednesday, July 31 – Wednesday, August 7 | Cleveland Museum of Art

Contestants perform in three rounds.  An international jury votes to advance a diminishing number of contestants until four finalists remain.

Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10 | Severance Hall | 8:00 pm

The four finalists perform with The Cleveland Orchestra to determine the winner.

Friday, August 9 | Severance Hall | 5:00 pm

Bravo Piano, the grand finale black-tie gala to benefit the CIPC.

Sunday, August 11 | Severance Hall | 3:00 pm

Prizes are awarded and the medalists perform solo recital encores.
