Georgy Tchaidze

Georgy Tchaidze, 28, has won awards at several well-known international competitions, including first prizes at the 2015 Top of the World International Piano Competition (Tromsø, Norway) and the 2009 Honens International Piano Competition (Calgary, Canada). He has performed regularly at major music festivals including Piano aux Jacobins (France), Toronto Summer Music and Ottawa International Chamber Music (Canada), Kissinger Sommer and Young Euro Classic in Germany and Verbier and Septembre Musicale in Switzerland. Mr. Tchaidze tours regularly with Canada’s Cecilia String Quartet, and plays duo piano with his wife, Nadezda Pisareva. He has performed worldwide in well-known venues, including Konzerthaus Berlin, Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto, Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, Shanghai Oriental Arts Centre, and Carnegie Hall in New York. Mr. Tchaidze has three recordings on the Honens label. He studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory with Sergey Dorensky for his undergraduate degree, and earned his master’s degree at the Berlin University of the Arts with Klaus Hellwig.
