Arthur Wang began studying piano at age six. He currently is a student of Dr. Sasha Starcevich and Ilana Vered. Competing locally, regionally and internationally, Arthur has gained numerous awards, including the third prize at the 2017 Yamaha USASU International Senior Piano Competition, second prize at the 2016 International Piano Competition for Young Musicians (Netherlands), and second prize at the Midwest International Piano Competition, presented by the University of Northern Iowa. Arthur has performed recitals in the Wilmersberg Zaal (Netherlands), Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, Queen Elizabeth Theatre (Vancouver), Chan Centre for the Performing Arts (British Columbia), and Vancouver Playhouse. Most recently, he was named in CBC Music’s 2017 edition list of “30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30.” Arthur also is an ensemble musician, having played piano quartet and piano trio with other orchestra members, and piano duo with his sister, Angeni Wang. Their piano duo won first place in the 2014 North West International Piano Ensemble Competition.
