Ronaldo Rolim, 30, has performed extensively as a recitalist, guest soloist, and chamber musician throughout four continents, playing at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Tonhalle Zurich, Wigmore Hall (London), and Seoul Arts Center. He has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as Tonhalle-Orchester Zurich, Musikkollegium Winterthur, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Phoenix Symphony, Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, and Minas Gerais Philharmonic Orchestra. He also is a founding member of Trio Appassionata, whose first album, “gone into night are all the eyes,” was released in 2014. Having begun his musical studies with his mother at age four, Mr. Rolim later studied with Zilda Candida dos Santos and Armando Fava Filho at the Magda Tagliaferro School in São Paulo.  In 2005 he moved to the U.S., where he studied with Flavio Varani at Oakland University (Michigan), Benjamin Pasternack at the Peabody Conservatory, and presently Boris Berman at the Yale School of Music, where he pursues a Doctor of Musical Arts degree. In 2015 he was awarded top prizes at the Concours Géza Anda in Zurich, adding to an extensive list of more than 30 prizes in competitions around the globe.
