Yutong Sun, 20, is a student of Alexander Korsantia at the New England Conservatory. He also has received instruction from Jerome Lowenthal, Marian Rybicky, and Boaz Sharon. Mr. Sun’s competition awards include third prize at the 2016 Maria Canals International Piano Competition (Barcelona), first prize at the 2012 Jaén Award International Piano Competition (Spain), second prize at the 2011 New Orleans International Piano Competition for Young Artists, second prize and the Marian Rybicki prize (Intermediate Group) at the 2010 International Competition for Young Pianists in memory of Vladimir Horowitz (Kiev), and more. He has performed in recital and with orchestras in China, France, Spain, and the U.S., and has released a recording of a recital performance as part of the Naxos label “Laureate Series.”
