Bravo Piano, the elegant black-tie gala held traditionally at Severance Hall on the final night of the Competition, will again serve as the primary fundraiser for the CIPC.  In 2011 a substantial portion of CIPC’s budget was raised and more than 500 guests enjoyed the evening’s festivities.

Under the leadership of Co-Chairmen Jill and Paul Clark, the gala is well on its way to a sell out.  This year’s gala will be very special in that it will honor Mal and Barbara Mixon for their many contributions to the Competition over the years.  In addition to ongoing support of the organization, the Mixons present the $50,000 cash award to the Competition First Prize Winner each year.

The Competition extends its thanks to the individuals and patrons who already have become Bravo Piano patrons.  Special thanks go to our $25,000 Grandioso Benefactors: Art of Beauty, Mal and Barbara Mixon, PNC Bank, and The Albert B. & Audrey G. Ratner Family Foundation.

A complete list of sponsors can be found here.

Bravo Piano will be held on Saturday, August 10, beginning at 5:00 pm with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the beautiful grand foyer of Severance Hall.  Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm, followed by the performances of two Competition finalists with The Cleveland Orchestra.  The culmination of the entire 12-day event occurs shortly after the conclusion of the final performance, when the winner is announced onstage.  Gala guests enjoy champagne, dessert, and the opportunity to meet all four medalists at a reception immediately following.
